MEMORIES...

It has been a week of reflections. Memories have surfaced as I have been trying to arrange my picture albums on the computer. Thinking back at this time last year has been somewhat difficult since Brian was so sick. But looking back isn't always bad. Sometimes it has a healing affect. It has been like looking through a kaleidoscope of my life with Brian, my children, and extended family with friends in tow. Viewing the pictures and videos while listening to Brian's music recordings has been cathartic all in all. So these next few weeks you might have to indulge me. I am going to post many of my various memories.

Prelude to March Madness

Larry Bird aka Jarret Pieper?

It has been a fun weekend! Being invited to go to my grandson Jarret's first basketball game and tournament in Rapid City, SD. Jarret's been practicing on a sixth grade basketball team league outside of school. He and his team had their first tournament game together this last weekend. I met Jessamyn, Jay, Taylen and Jarret in Chadron, NE and then rode with them to Rapid City on Saturday morning. We watched the boys play like good family does. I even began shouting out pointers to the boys and reprimanding the referees like all the other parents there. Just like I knew what the rules were and how they should be implemented. It was in the spirit of the soon to be March Madness! The boys got better with each game they played and Sunday they won!

REBOUND!

Stay with him!

We stayed overnight at the Country Inn and Suites so the boys could swim in their pool with the big slide. Us adults went to Happy Hour at TGI Fridays in walking distance and slid down a few of their cocktails and half price appetizers. Prelude to a March madness for sure!

A Week of Contrasts

This week seemed never to end, starting with the joy of a new life and Grandma duty. Staying to help Paqui, Marc, Zeyda and Breqkon in Scottsbluff through Wednesday afternoon. Marc would take over on Thursday and Paqui's two weeks were up for not driving on Friday.

While there I thought it would be cleaver to get the booboos that I had unintentionally done to the body of my 2012 Enclave fixed. Paqui, being familiar with vehicle body work and shops booked me for an appointment. Yippee now no one will know what a dork I was when I backed into the garage door before it was clear up (even with a rear view camera on board), or when I was trying to back up my utility trailer up that I jackknifed it into my bumper. Good thing there was no one to yell at me but myself. Needless to say booboos are fixed and my vehicle is pretty much back to it's sparkling tri-coat color.

After returning home Wednesday I felt pretty achy and thought geez I must have really pulled some muscles vacuuming Paqui's house before I left or the weather was really changing. I had those very uncomfortable body aches.

Thursday I continued to ache and had a slight sniffle and scratchy throat and by Thursday evening my stomach began to hurt. Oh Norovirus, NO!

Norovirus

Where I spent most of the night and next morning.

Enough of the graphics! I am on the mend but was unable to attend my niece, Ila 's baby shower yesterday. The weather forecast also was predicting a blizzard to begin in the later afternoon. Fortunately, the blizzard started later so Paqui and family made it home from the shower without adverse consequences. We got about 5-6 inches of snow and it blew in drifts up to 2-3 feet in tree rows but was not as intense as the East coast blizzard, thank goodness. Moisture yes, wind no!

Glad to start a new healthier week and maybe with more energy to finish some nagging projects that I have put off.
