The Big Blow

Blowing from every which way. I should be used to the wind here in western Nebraska, but it surely gets old day after day. At least the snow is slowly melting with an occasional snow covering reappearing once every couple of days.

 I continue to dream of March, not because it is when spring arrives, but because it is when I travel to the Hawaiian islands to visit my sister. Dreaming of laying out on the beach or out on the lanai, I can almost feel the sun beating down on my face… Back to reality and the cold dark truth!

I drove up and went out to eat with Jessamyn's family in Gordon to celebrated her 37th birthday on Thursday. Then on Saturday Jessamyn, Jarret and I met Paqui's family in Bayard to watch Taylen's JV basketball game. Its a never ending whirlwind of activities to attend. Two more birthdays are coming up soon, guess whose?

 

Get Ready, Get Set, and GO!

The new year has started with a bang. I had a small dinner party New Years Eve with family and friends. None but Paqui was awake when the ball dropped. Friends headed home early. I guess us old duffers have a hard time keeping our eyes open past 10:00 pm. I put in a valiant effort, but sitting on the couch downstairs was just too familiar. Off to sleep I went, eyes closed and mouth open I suppose, like Grandma Davis. Poor Paqui having to view Marc, Zeyda and I sleeping at the time of the grand birth of the new year.

The next day we watch Nebraska football, exercised (at least Zeyda did) and some even took a nap. Hors d' Oeuvres were served for snacking when ever.  Breqkon also helped with a little clean up by dusting the floor crawling all around!
