Snow, Snow Go Away!

It has been snowing off and on for the last 4 days! It is getting pretty tiring shoveling, slipping, and sliding. I drove on very treacherous roads last Sunday to get to Paqui's house so I could watch the urchins while Marc worked. Paqui left for Denver to help work claims where they are short Progressive agents.  She traveled on a closed road to get to the Wyoming boarder so she could get to her destination.

I have been pretty busy with Lion Club business before I get to paradise. A meeting today and one tomorrow before heading back to Scottsbluff to watch the kids again. However, it snowing and we received 2 more inches on top of the 6 inches from the last snow.  Not to mention, it is to get back down to -5 tonight. It certainly has been a long winter this year for many folks.

Enough about the weather, now that the Olympics are over and I can't pretend it is fun to have snow. Sadness has again striked my house this last week. I had to put my wonderful cat Alma to sleep because of health conditions that couldn't be treated any longer. I know it was the right thing to do, but it was hard. She was apart of our family for over 12 years and the most people friendly cat I ever had. She is now with Brian and Rico. Bless all of them!

Alma the greatest kitty ever!

Hang On To Your Hats!

Oh boy, hang on to your hats! It's blowing 35 miles per hour with gusts up to 45-55! This winter it seems like the wind has blown and blown. It might be my imagination, but has the wind blown more than usual?

Breqkon checking Grandma's  kitchen  out.

Last weekend Paqui brought the kids and stayed over night to humor this Grandma for a belated Valentine's Day celebration. We had a great time even though my  Wi-Fi connection was on the blink and the movies weren't streaming in.

Zeyda having a great time and showing it.

This next weekend I will be traveling to their house to help watch the kiddos while Marc works and Paqui travels to Denver to help with Progressive claims for a week. Will be traveling back and forth from Alliance throughout the week so I can meet my Lion's obligations.

Happy birthday wishes to my nephew Kevin Charles who lives in Denver. All my love with healing mercies go out to Jessamyn, who has been taking those numerous rabies injections and now is battling a severe respiratory infection. GET WELL honey! Congratulations to Linda who became a great grandma again with the birth of little Ozawa. Last but not least, give my friend Julie and her family the strength needed in placing their mother in a long term facility. It is never easy making those types of life choices for your parents.

What more is there you might ask? Well, I dragged the suitcase out and will begin to decide what island clothes will suit me the best...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to all my family and friends! Love is bursting out all over today.  It is the only day we celebrate the miracle of true love. I must say I have been blessed in my life to have had that special karmic connection with Brian. Even though he isn't here with me today in the flesh, he is here with me spiritually.

It is not only Valentine week, my brother Darrell turned over another birthday! He celebrated earlier in the week by touring Sports Authority Stadium and the Denver Bronco's locker room. Here he is in all his glory. Fantasying  that he was 50 years younger…

Another milestone passed this week. The 50 year anniversary when the Beatles came to America. I remember watching the Ed Sullivan Show with my folks and seeing for the first time this wonderful new sensation from England. What a legacy they have left us over the years.

Tomorrow I am expecting to enjoy in some family time with Paqui and the kids. Baboo and I are getting ready to entertain.

It is Frickin Cold Out

I don't normally allude to crass vocabulary, but brrr it is frickin cold out! To make matters worse I have that nasty respiratory crud everyone seems to be getting. Hacking away while shoveling the few inches of snow in -22 and -8 weather hasn't been my idea of fun. That is not including the windchill factor. I know my friends in Illinois and Maine are getting more snow and have also suffered with the arctic cold. I keep dreaming of those islands I will see in March.

Business taxes are done and now personal taxes are next on the docket. Need to getter done before my trip in March.  Nothing more  certain than death or taxes.

Today I am dog sitting for my friends Jeanie and Warren. I am watching Patsy, who will keep my Baboo preoccupied and hopefully give the cats a reprieve. I will have her four days. Should be fun for Baboo and me...
