Mini Coopers, Friends and Music!

I have had a great weekend so far with friends from afar that have congregated together due to reasons as different as one can imagine. Bruce and Mary are friends from Little Rock, AK that stopped through Friday on their way to the Mini Cooper rally starting  in Grand Junction, CO. On the way to my abode they picked up Dan in Lewellen. We all had copious amounts of  food and drink as we celebrated the "good old days".

Mary was missing Buffy their dog who was left behind at home. Baboo, however,  gave her a doggy fix and lots of attention.

The three musketeers from high school times are still hanging.

Saturday as Bruce and Mary took off towards the Rockies. I took Dan back to Lewellen in time to attend the Most Unusual Place's (MUP) Pizza Party with the Cafe' Monkeys as the musical dinner show. All of the band members are fellow musicians and friends of Brian and I.

While at the MUP I hung out with Vicki and Donn who were old college friends from Sterling, CO and with Julie my high school buddy from Maine. Unfortunately Julie has been in the area at her Mother's bedside. Early Saturday morning Laura finally broke her earthly bonds to dance with the heavenly angels.

Surprised!

It has been a week of surprises! I was surprised I actually made it through a five day stretch of working, did have a weekend break  though :-) Was surprised by my dog's foul play and along with his hunting skills.

Baboo happens to enjoy foul play, literally speaking! While I was visiting with my neighbor Joe, he saw his chickens in his fenced property. While we were taking Baboo was determined to find his way into that fence. There was quite a ruckus in the hen house with Boo  chasing chickens and me chasing Boo. What a sight to behold, I can only imagine! It is Baboo's third brush with foul play and luckily no chicken has met his demise as of yet.

Not only did Baboo hunt chickens yesterday,  he located a slithering guest by my dumpster. He was barking furiously at the snake and the snake was coiling up ready to strike.  I thought Boo might meet his waterloo if the snake was a rattler but fortunately it was just a large bull snake.

Last weekend I went to Scottsbluff to the Oregon Trail Parade with grandkids, Paqui and Marc.  It was nice and cool and very enjoyable thanks to Rachel saving seats for us.

Breqkon is also walking now and is quite the little man. No stopping him now!

The Davis Side Was Here!

Could we be the three little piggies, or maybe the three musketeers, but what ever we call ourselves we are the three Davis protege' of Darrell A. Davis and Katherine Ann Sievers. We gathered over the fourth of July to celebrate the nation's and our birth in Custer, SD. My niece Jenny rented a home up above Custer SD in the hills. It was a very beautiful and restful stay. I was fortunate enough to have my sister stay a few days prior to our trek with my brother to the Black Hills.

We saw buffalo, Mt. Rushmore and traveled the Needles Highway. Sunday Jessamyn, Jay and the boys came up for the day.

It was fun to get together to reminisce days gone by and current events in our lives. It was just what a family reunion should be like!
