SHAKE UP IN NEBRASKA!

I worked today on the Memory Support Unit at Highland Park Care center. When I got home it was quite a surprise to see that Bo Pelini, Nebraska's football coach had been fired. I could hardly believe my eyes! Seven seasons and no National Championship and some embarrassing losses later. Hope the powers to be will find a new coach that we will excel at the University of Nebraska and meet the very high expectations of the fan base.

Thanksgiving was wonderful with beautiful weather, great food and fellowship. I was thankful for all my family and friends who partook in our celebration. Note the picture of all of us above except Marc who was taking the picture and Breqkon who was snoozing.

The last few weeks have been jammed pack with Jarret wrestling  in Alliance and winning his his weight class at the middle school tournament. Both boys fulfilling their deer tags at the annual hunt on the Box L ranch.

From now on it will be a rush to Christmas. I pulled all the Christmas decorations down and put away the fall ones. Christmas containers now litter my garage floor. Two weeks left of teaching school and a month to Christmas. Ho, Ho, Ho!

Flying Dishwahsers!

What can I say but do pigs fly? No but dishwashers do!

I just wanted my readers to know the incredible story about what happened after preparing myself to have a plumber out to install the new kitchen faucet and dishwasher that I purchased. The plumber was scheduled to be out the first thing yesterday morning after picking up my new dishwasher at the store. Well, I waited all day...I was getting pretty nervous since I had an appointment to get my hair cut at 3 pm right before teaching my night class at 4. He didn't show up until 2:25 pm and guess what? Let me explain yesterday's scenario; it was very windy and blustery. As the plumber was on the way out to my place he met the a garbage truck. My brand new dishwasher was sucked up and out of the back of his truck on to the highway. Pigs don't fly but dishwashers do! HE DID NOT TIE IT DOWN!!! Needless to say I am pretty sick about it! The reason I bought the dishwasher off the show room floor was so I could have it installed before Thanksgiving. Family and friends I am giving notice that there will be KP duty if eating at my house this Thanksgiving. We will be doing the dishes the old fashion way. What a fiasco!!!

Brrr...Saluting Our Veterans!

Who turned on the freezer! Goodness sake its a balmy 9 degrees out! Wind chill of -9 and light snow. What a day for celebrating our veterans. Good thing this year there is inside remembrances to celebrate their sacrifice!

My father was a Chaplin in the navy during WII and my business partner's husband Tom received a purple heart during the Vietnam war. We proudly acknowledge all who proudly served their country to preserve our freedom!

Of course since it is so cold my temperamental furnace is on the blink again for the third time. Now my dishwasher is leaking and my sprayer is broken on my kitchen faucet along with the hot water handle which is stripped. How is it that everything goes to pot at one particular time? Who knows maybe it is the winter sprites or some devilish snow elf that is unhappy.

I want to thank my kids and grandkids for helping me this past Sunday. Jay, Taylen, Jarret and Jessamyn with bringing and setting up the kennel for Baboo. Jay and Jarret for cleaning my gutters and putting on new gutter ends. Jessamyn and Paqui for helping with winterizing deck pots and cleaning after. Taylen for fixing my dryer vent. THANKS SO MUCH! We enjoyed a very Italian feast after along with good conversation and football. At least someone was pooped!

Getting ready for Thanksgiving, calling in the turkeys!

Moving On To The Next Holiday

Halloween is official over and other holidays will be rapidly approaching! Pics from this past Halloween come forth.

Cookie Monster not a happy trick or treater!

Zeyda, the Spirit Girl is trying to console Cookie Monster, lol!

Next up is my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. I am having turkey day at my abode due to popular demand. Nothing more close to my the heart than spending time with family and friends giving thanks!

It has been a little cool around here this weekend. The old furnace has gone on the blink twice. The repair man was once again here this morning. This time he found an air leak that would not let the furnace remained lit. But lucky for me I have a wood stove to keep me toasty if it happens to turn off again!

For today is our first snow storm of the season...
