Howdy Partners!
This weekend we celebrated Memorial Day by enjoying a good old fashioned country dance and a real cowboy, horse roping branding. Saturday night the Haywaddies played at the Circle C Days in Cody, NE. Cowboys and cowgirls were twirling their stuff. It still amazes me that no one ever falls over from all that twirling!
Sunday we headed to the Box L Ranch to help the Voss family brand and partying down. It is always a fun and crazy time! Sunday they got rained out and just had to keep themselves entertained by playing a marathon poker game, not to mention drinking most of the branding day beer. So on Monday a list was made and more ice and beer were brought. Food galore and desserts, what can I say but there was a whole table of desserts!
The rain made for gumbo ranch roads with no 2 wheeled traffic at all and barely 4 wheel travel made it to the hunting lodge we stayed at. Our vehicle had large amounts of the Box L realestate on it as we left slip sliding away.
These folks work darn hard and were branding the last hour in the rain. I couldn't tell the black calves from the cowboys and cowgirls wrestling them as the cowboys roped and dragged the calves in.

DISNEY WORLD GREAT ADVENTURE
It has been a wonderful adventure to Disney's world of make believe! It was a magical five days for all of us. By the third day of walking, dodging people and riding hair raising rides my body is ready for a rest. It is unimaginable how Disney is able to implement so many intricate rides and displays. We visited Disney's Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Magical Kingdom, Epcot and Downtown Disney. I received a few blisters on my feet and some sore muscles trying to keep up with the younger members of our group. It was nice to have Melanie along because she didn't mind waiting up for me while the others took off like rockets!
Not only were the parks great to visit, we had a great place to rest our heads. We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo House) where from our balconies we could view the giraffes, water buffalo, gazelles, antelope, and various African birds frolic around.
Even our travel was exciting. Flying to Orlando we got to circle around above for 30-40 minutes while a thunderstorm was located over the airport. Then on our return trip to Denver yesterday we circled around for over an hour and attempted to land once then aborted due to high tail winds and a rain. We finally got to land on a different runway. It was raining so hard you could hardly see out of the plane window. We even had to wait for our luggage to be delivered due to lightening. It just was a crazy event all around, but glad we made it safely. We got to Alliance at 10:30 pm and Jessamyn, Jay, and the boys still had to travel to Gordon (another 1 1/2 hrs.).
Enough for now, I will be resting and catching up here at home for a few days. Brian is doing better day by day from last chemo treatment. He just needs plenty of rest.

Blog Glich in Blogland
Sorry to all who have been waiting to hear how Brian is doing after our trip to CTCA. My blog site was down, imagine a glitch in computer land. We got back last night after our usual delay at DIA. It was raining, windy and cold. I didn't bring a coat; I don't know what I was thinking! Chilled to the bone we finally got home around 8 pm.
Brian is on his second round of chemo with the new drugs. He has been suffering with chronic, severe to mod right sided neck and head pain from the lymph node involment . He finally addressed the issue with his health care providers at CTCA and is now on routine pain medications. The medications have lighten the load and has helped him with quality of life. Hallelujah!
Needless to say, I feel some what guilty for leaving him today. I am in a hotel near the airport in Denver waiting to fly to Disney World tomorrow with Jessamyn, Jay, Taylen, Jarret and Brian's sister Melanie. I know he is a big boy, but worry I will. Paqui, Zeyda and brother James will be staying with him this weekend, which will alleviated my mind.
I am learning more about designing this blog and have rearranged the pictures. Soon there will be new pics of our Disney trip. So Mickey here I come!

Busy Spring!
Happy May Day!
It is early May and the crab apple trees and lilacs are starting to bloom. We did have a low of 22 last week though. Hopefully it will not freeze the wee buds. I got the privilege to entertain Zeyda for a couple of days this last week while her regular great auntie Mary took a vacation. It was fun to play with the dough and color the books. I also took a few rides down the slide.
There is some sad news, Paqui had a miscarriage last Monday. Jessamyn came down Tuesday to Scottsbluff to spend the night with us to add support. It is always hard to understand why it happens, but we are glad Paqui is alright. Our prayers are with Marc, Paqui and Zeyda.
We are gearing up to go back to CTCA for Brian's treatment this next Monday. We should be flying home on Thursday. Then I will head back to Denver with Jessamyn, Jay, Jarret and Taylen on Friday night. We fly to Orland FL for our Disney World Adventure early Saturday morning. Paqui is to check on her Dad while I am gone. We will all miss his presence!
There is something new for me on the horizon. I am going to be teaching the Basic Nurse Aide course through WNCC Allied Health programs in Alliance. I will start teaching in July and August. It is a 80 hour course and I can set my own dates. Brian is glad I think because he is getting tired of me reorganizing the cupboards and closets.
